John Hanson

Dr. John Hanson joined EMS, P.C. in 2018. Dr. Hanson grew up in Chesterton, Indiana. He attended Wabash College, then graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at University of Nebraska Medical Center and subsequently worked there as a Staff Physician. He enjoys wearing fun sweaters at work and reading science fiction novels. mac

Christina Jackson

MD,

Dr. Christina Jackson joined EMS, P.C. in 2018. She grew up in Valparaiso, Indiana and graduated from Purdue University. After graduation, she completed a three-year fellowship in Germany, where she worked for the US Government. She returned to Indiana and graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2015. She completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at Indiana University. While not working, she enjoys travel, the outdoors, and spending time with her husband Ken and puppy Noodle.

Elaina DiOrio

MD,

Elaina Diorio joined EMS PC in 2018. Dr. DiOrio graduated from Rush Medical College in Chicago in 2014 and completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at Indiana University. She completed fellowship training in Palliative Medicine at Indiana University. Dr. DiOrio splits her clinical time between the Emergency Department and the Palliative Care service at Hendricks Regional Health. Out of the hospital, she enjoys horseback riding and hiking

Megan Leech

PA,

Megan joined EMSPC in 2017 and is one of our excellent PAs
Megan attended Butler University and graduated with both a B.S. in Health Sciences and a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. She is a member of AAPA and IAPA. She has called west central Indiana "home" her entire life. She has special interests in women's health and accessibility to care. When she's not at work, she enjoys spending time outside with her dog, Kingsley.

Becka Bannon

PA,

Becka joined EMSPC in 2017 and is one of our excellent PAs.
Becka grew up in Crawfordsville, IN and attended Butler University, where she received a B.S. of Health Sciences and a Masters Degree of Physician Assistant Studies. She has special interests in Women's Health and Neurology and is a member of AAPA. In her free time, she enjoys reading and being active outdoors.

Cory Long

MD,

Cory joined EMSPC in 2017 and is one of our excellent MDs.
Cory grew up and lives here in Hendricks County. He went to college at Depauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. He attended medical school at Indiana University and completed Emergency Medicine residency training at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He is ABEM Board certified and is also a member of ACEP. He is married and has two children, and his wife is also a physician.

Kelly Foster

MD FAAEM,

Kelly joined EMSPC in 2017 and is one of our excellent MDs.
Dr. Foster graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2004 and completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2007. She then obtained board certification in Emergency Medicine and has been serving as an emergency provider for more than 10 years. Outside of the hospital, she is a busy mother of two who loves spending time with all of her family, attending sporting events, and enjoying music.

Nathan Whitmore

MD,

Nathan joined the EMSPC team in 2017 and is one of our excellent MDs.
Dr. Whitmore completed his undergraduate training at North Carolina State University and Campbell University. He went to Medical School at University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He completed Emergency Medicine residency at Indiana School of Medicine's Emergency Medicine Program.

Thomas Richardson

MD, FACEP, FAAEM

Tom is our group’s President and Deputy Medical Director. He has over 34 years of ER experience if you include his pre-residency training and 29 years ER experience post residency! He was the 2014 recipient of the Fred Osborn Award for Outstanding Indiana Emergency Physician. He has special interests in wilderness medicine, toxicology, farm related injuries, and motorsport medicine. His hobbies include music, horseback riding, and hiking. Tom enjoys the collegiality of the staff at HRH as well as relationships he has built with nurses, clerks, and other staff over the years. He has been at HRH for over 20 years and enjoys the challenging patient mix. Tom loves to sport suspenders, something which none of the other group members could ever hope to successfully pull off. He chose HRH because of the well-trained staff and excellent care patients receive here.

Jim Nossett

MD, FACEP, EMS Board certified

Jim is a founding partner of Emergency Medicine Specialists, PC. Jim graduated from Wabash College with a Bachelor of Arts degree, he then finished medical School at Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) and went on to complete residency training in Emergency Medicine (EM) also at IUSM. He then went on to obtain board certification in Emergency Medicine and obtained fellow status with the American College of Emergency Physicians. In 2013, Jim became one of the first physicians in the country to be board certified in EMS Medicine. He has practiced in the Emergency Department at Hendricks Regional Health (HRH) since 1993, and is the Medical Director of EMS for 16 fire departments, as well as the Hendricks County Tactical EMS teams and StatFlight 4. Passionate for EMS, Dr. Nossett often responds to scenes with our affiliated EMS agencies. He loves to work with and teach EMT’s, paramedics and EMS students. Another passion is racing. Dr. Nossett is an IndyCar track physician, and can often be seen responding to crashes at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Dr. Nossett is married, with two adult children, and enjoys spending time with his family and traveling with his wife. They enjoy cruising, exploring the western U.S., and taking short, off-the beaten-path trips through Indiana. They enjoy looking for antiques on their travels. As a nearly life-long resident of Hendricks County, and with a 20 + year career at HRH, he especially appreciates the wonderful people at HRH. He has observed that there is truly a passion for people at HRH, and it can be seen in the way everyone, from cafeteria staff, nurses, technicians, and physicians work to care for our patients. He feels that HRH is a very unique place with unsurpassed medical care that is very personalized making our hospital and our Emergency Department an amazing place. He believes it is truly a blessing to work with such a wonderful group of people.

David Farman

MD, FACEP

David is the medical director for EMSPC. He attended Northwestern University and graduated in 2002 with a B.A. in Environmental Sciences. While at Northwestern he started at tight end on their 2000 Big Ten Championship football team and his experiences while playing led him to pursue a career in Emergency Medicine. He married and then attended medical school at the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center. There he was named the Emergency Medicine Student of the Year in 2002. He completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine and was subsequently board certified in Emergency Medicine. After residency, he began working full-time at Hendricks Regional Health where he is currently the Medical Director of the Emergency Department. David currently lives with his wife Tanya and their two children. He has special interests in student education, the psychology of medical error, and the management of sepsis.

Ray Piedmonte

MD, FACEP

Ray graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine where he was inducted into AOA. He completed residency at St Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL in 1997 and went on to board certification in Emergency Medicine in 1998. Ray has a background in EMS and was a paramedic before he was an MD. Ray enjoys spending time with family, karate, and skiing. He is one of the original EMSPC partners and has been working at Hendricks for nearly 20 years.

Mark Tompkins

MD, FACEP

Mark obtained his B.S. in Natural Sciences from Xavier University graduating
Magna Cum Laude. He attended medical school at Medical College of Ohio, and was awarded Alpha Omega Alpha there. He attended Emergency Medicine Residency at William Beaumont Hospital from 1999-2002, and was a Chief Resident in the program there. He subsequently obtained board certification in Emergency Medicine and has been serving as an emergency provider for 14 years now. His special interests in Emergency Medicine are Radiology, Pediatrics, and Dermatology. He enjoys spending time with family, music, physical fitness, and outdoor activities. He is known as a zebra hunter and mentor for the younger physicians in the group. At Hendricks Regional he appreciates the patient-centered care, friendly medical staff, state of the art hospital, and state of the art care despite being a smaller facility. He has killer photo-editing skills and a good sense of humor.

Steve Foster

MD, FACEP

Steve has been with EMSPC for over 5 years now. He completed medical school and then went on to complete emergency medicine residency training. After this he achieved board certification in emergency medicine with ACEP. He enjoys spending time with family, and he can remodel a house as easily as he puts in a central line.

Jon Schmitz

MD, FAAEM

Jon attended college at Butler University before going to medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University. He completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine and was subsequently board certified in Emergency Medicine. He has special interests in EMS and works as the Deputy EMS Medical Director. He is involved with EMS education, responding to calls and paramedical training. He is currently pursuing his EMS board certification. His non-medical interests include: church, music, all things technology, and Drum Corps International. He enjoys working alongside the expert EM physicians, PAs and nurses at Hendricks Regional Health. He also appreciates the outstanding HRH ancillary staff and administrative support. Jon plays the trombone and speaks German to his dog, Hektor.

Mark Collins

MD, FACEP

Mark started in emergency medicine 20 years ago as an EMT and worked his way up to become a paramedic/firefighter, then eventually an MD. He attended medical school at the University of South Florida where he was inducted into AOA and received the Gold Humanism in Medicine Award. He completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine and completed the EMS track there. After that he went on to obtain board certification in Emergency Medicine and obtained fellow status with the American College of Emergency Physicians. His special interests in the field of emergency medicine are EMS, ultrasound, and pediatrics. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, music, shooting his bow, and being involved at his church. He is currently involved with several hospital committees and enjoys the team approach to medicine at Hendricks. He is one of 4 EMSPC members who is a twin. He has worked at nearly 20 Emergency departments in some capacity over the past 20 years and HRH is his favorite.

Jason Kindrat

DO,

Jason started his ER career working in an ED as a volunteer, then as a patient technician in 1997. He enjoys EMS and is currently Director of Medical Education for our rotating Marian University medical students. He attended Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine and then completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine and then went on to become board certified in Emergency Medicine. He enjoys traveling and cooking outside of work. He is one of 4 of our group members who are twins, and he is a former Benedictine monk. Some things he enjoys about working at Hendricks Regional are the sense of teamwork, the efficiency, and the amount of support the nursing/tech staff provide to the doctors and PAs. He feels there is a great working environment here and a teamwork among the staff and physicians.

Julia Fetahagic

PA-C,

Julia is our most senior PA with EMSPC. She has been working as a physician assistant for around 20 years. She is NCCPA certified and a member of AAPA and IAPA (Indiana Academy of Physician Assistants). She also is a part of SEMPA (Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants), and is ACLS and PALS certified. Julia enjoys working at Hendricks Regional and when she is not working she is spending time with family.

Liz Perkins

PA-C,

Elizabeth is one of the excellent PAs with EMSPC. She is NCCPA certified and a member of AAPA and the Indiana Academy of Physician Assistants. She also is a part of the Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants, and is ACLS and PALS certified. She has over 6.5 years of experience as an emergency department PA. She likes working at Hendricks Regional because it offers excellent care across all specialties and focuses on continual improvement. She enjoys spending time with family, sports, reading, and music. She has participated in a medical mission trip to Mexico and looks forward to future opportunities to serve in this way. She would choose the HRH ED for care for a multitude of reasons, including the commitment to excellence, expertise, efficiency, and the overall knowledge and competence to care for critical illness and injury.

Tonya McFadden

PA-C,

Tonya is one of the excellent PAs with EMSPC. She is NCCPA certified and is ACLS and PALS certified. She has been with the group for many years. She enjoys working at Hendricks Regional and spending time with her kids.
